The SNJB was well-represented at the 4th Annual Pull for Pink event by a pair of teams from Portsmouth Police Academy. Hosted by the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 27th, teams of eight were timed on their ability to pull the city’s pink fire engine a standard distance in the shortest amount of time.
A total of 34 teams competed for year-long bragging rights and a sweet trophy. Our teams yanked impressive times at 8.15 and 8.22 seconds each, but the time that earned the top prize was just 6.78 seconds!
The fun family event was held at Big Woody’s in Great Bridge and also included a motorcycle ride, family games, live music, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. All proceeds benefited the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation in support of breast cancer research. Plans for 2019 include an expanded event at Chesapeake City Park, and the SNJB hopes to sponsor up to five teams including a ladies-only group. #SNJBstrong
