E-ZPass Drivers Enjoy New Lower Standard Travel Fee

on South Norfolk Jordan Bridge

–“Dollar Off Days” Promotion Expires on June 16–

Chesapeake, VA –South Norfolk Jordan Bridge’s “Dollar Off Days” program originally was conceived to help introduce rerouted drivers to the new East-West travel route during the Gilmerton Bridge’s temporary closure at the first of this year. The promotion dropped travel fees to as low as $1 for E-ZPass customers using the Jordan Bridge and was extended through Spring as a courtesy to local drivers.

“We hope our drivers have enjoyed the Jordan Bridge’s reliable, congestion-free crossing during this special promotion period and will continue using it as a preferred travel route to save time and gas on future trips,” says General Manager Kevin Crum. “Our new standard travel fees continue to reward E-ZPass drivers with the greatest discount.”

New standard travel fees go into effect after midnight on Sunday, June 16, 2013. E-ZPass drivers still enjoy the lowest travel fee with a new, reduced rate of $1.50 each way; SNJB Pay by Plate customers are billed $3 per crossing; and Pay by Mail drivers receive an invoice for $4 per trip. To help drivers receive the lowest travel fees, Pay by Mail customers who enroll in E-ZPass can take advantage of a special, limited time offer that reduces their current charges to the lower E-ZPass driver rate. Details are available on their invoice.

The SNJB also recently unveiled a new Summer Sweepstakes and Commuter Club. Both new value-added programs begin June 1, 2013, rewarding E-ZPass drivers with opportunities to win weekly, monthly and annual prizes and also earn points for travel that can be redeemed for special offers at local businesses. Registration is free and available on www.SNJB.net.
